Animal Rescue Kusadasi (ARK), is an association legally registered as Kusadasi Hayvan Kurtarma Derneği, registration number 09.021.148.
It exists to provide care and veterinary treatment for sick and injured street animals in the administrative district of Kusadasi, Aydin. ARK cannot operate outside its designated area.
The Association is governed by Turkish law and by the specific rules laid down in the tüzük (regulations) document issued on registration. A copy of the registration documentation is available on request.
The Association is managed by a Board elected by the registered members and has a number of officers. The Board reviews progress, plans for the future, monitors finances and ensures that the Association’s business is run in accordance with the law and the tüzük.
In addition, there is a committee of volunteers, which meets regularly to plan and undertake practical actions to support the Association’s aims.
The Association is open, transparent and accountable; decisions are made by consensus in a democratic manner.
Membership is open to all; the officers must be approved by the members and must be resident in Turkey, the president and accountant must be Turkish citizens. Members who are not officers may be committee members.
