PROVIDING ASSISTANCE

 As required in Turkey, the council runs an animal shelter, which can perform some basic surgery and neutering prior to (in most cases) the animals returning to the street. However, funds are extremely limited. ARK members provide additional food and other resources while also offering their time within the shelter itself to make life more comfortable for every cat and dog inside. When extreme medical attention is needed, vets can be called upon for major surgery as well as minor interventions such as teeth issues which could otherwise cause an animal to starve or die. As a final measure, permanent foster carers are utilized if needing long-term treatment or post-operative care and ARK will generally cover any necessary expenses.
